If you are working through grief, trauma, PTSD, addiction and/or conflict, I can help. I am a licensed professional and addiction counselor (Nationally and Distance credentialed), as well as a Certified Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy provider with post-graduate certifications in multiple specialties concerning child, adult, and couple/family issues. I work under Carl Roger's philosophy of Unconditional Positive Regard, focusing on the behaviors, actions, and situations of my clients while leaving the soul of the individual intact and presumed good.
Since opening my practice in 2010, I have successfully worked with a diverse range of clients and challenges.
Modalities utilized to support you through your personal journey include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) , Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Psycho-Education.
The sessions are non-judgmental, confidential, and conducted in a safe space you've created, allowing you to open up and dig deep so I can assist, unburden, guide, and teach you new life and coping strategies. Treatment begins with strategies and techniques to affect unproductive behaviors and actions, and progressing to lasting positive lifestyle change and overall well-being.
Addiction is a condition characterized by physically and psychological dependence on a substance, such as alcohol, drugs, or an activity, like shopping, gaming or exercise. It is defined as an inability to stop despite the harmful effects on your mind, body, soul, and spirit as well as the impact on those around you and close to you.
Trauma/PTSD may set in after a distressing or life-threatening event. It's the emotional response to a terrible event, like an accident, violence, sexual assault, or natural disaster. Immediately after the event, shock and denial are typical reactions.
Longer term responses may include:
Grief and Loss are natural and personal reactions to significant emotional change or loss. They result from the conflicting emotions arising from a disruption to a familiar pattern of life. Grief can manifest as the pain of reaching out for someone or something once there, only to find them gone when you most need them. It can also be the sorrow of longing for someone or something that was never really there, and still isn't.
Anxiety and Depression can be caused by Life Transitions such as moving, aging, changing jobs, chronic pain, or illness. Many transitions and choices can seem overwhelming… Life isn’t always easy. Sometimes, even the strongest amongst us need a little help sometimes to work through some of life’s challenges.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured therapy approach that can help process and integrate distressing memories by using bilateral stimulation, such as self-tapping, guided eye movements or sounds. It's based on the idea that memories can become 'stuck' in the brain, leading to continuing emotional and psychological stress. EMDR can help reprocess these memories, decreasing their emotional intensity and impact.
Ketamine - Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a therapeutic approach that helps clients access deeper emotional states and insights, facilitating the therapeutic process for conditions like depression, anxiety, and PTSD. A referral to a licensed prescribing medical professional and licensed pharmacy is provided upon acceptance into the program. All medical/pharmacy fees are paid directly to those referred providers.
